Once operational, the IDZ will cater for the production and export in high value low mass goods, focusing in sectors such as food processing, jewellery, diamond beneficiation and fuel cells.
Plans are already advanced for expansion possibilities identified within proximity to the Airport to house further agro-processing opportunities, aerospace/aviation, electronics and pharmaceuticals manufacturing.
OR Tambo International has excellent infrastructure. It is a well-positioned logistics and distribution hub for air cargo internationally and in the region. OR Tambo international is the largest air cargo airport on the African continent, with the capacity to handle 40 000 tonnes annually. 82% of South Africa’s cargo comes through OR Tambo.
